The Labrador Retriever is a solid, muscular dog, slightly longer than tall, with a short, water-resistant double coat. They have a broad head and thick nose. Eyes are chestnut or brown. The English Labrador version is heavier, thicker and stockier. The American Lab is usually taller and slimmer.
Labs are loving and affectionate. They’re loyal and want to please. They love water and are friendly with children and other dogs. They crave human attention and need to feel part of the family.
The dogs are easy to groom and usually live for 11-14 years. They NEED exercise everyday, but, if they get this, are fine for condo living. Training is highly recommended.
